Getting Married In MauritiusMauritius is a top destination for weddings abroad for 1 in 10 UK couples choosing a destination wedding. Getting married in Mauritius is quite easy; you need legal parental consent if under 18. Two copies of the following documents must be sent weeks ahead of the wedding date to the Tour agent:All Documents must be in English or a certified translations is provided Completed application form for non-residents to marry 10-year valid Passports - Birth certificates Decree absolute (if divorced, and you would need to be certified non-pregnant if you have been divorced in within the last 10 months) Deed Poll proof of name Change Affidavit stating that you are single Death certificate & previous marriage certificate if widowed 2 passport-size photographs each (you can have these taken on the island) Couples need to be on the island 3 working days prior to the ceremony and most hotels require a minimum stay of 7 nights. Before the big day, a visit to Port Louis will be arranged to sign affidavits. The couple must obtain a certificate that the Prime Minister’s Office issues to the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages stating that they are not Mauritian citizens or Mauritian residents. Getting married at a hotel is quite easy as most hotels have full wedding packages that including catering champagne.
