Beaches Of Mauritius

Mauritius can make your tropical dreams come true with its beautiful clear warm waters and white beaches. You can find large lagoons that are lined with white sands are a real paradise whether you want to sun bath or to swim in the sea. Throughout Mauritius's coral coastal beaches offer you unbeatable relaxing possibilities during the week or you take the opportunity to mix with some of the local population at the weekend.

Grand Bay (Grand Baie)
Grand Baie is one of the best places in Mauritius for windsurfing, water skiing, and sailing. The bay is also a favourite for sailboat anchoring and has a meeting point for day tours around the smaller islets that are scattered around the island.

Pereybere
This beach is a remarkable small cove that is found between Grand Baie and Cap Malheureux boasts one of the finest sun bathing spots around. The waters are a bit deeper that most of the Mauritian lagoons. This is an excellent family type beach to take part in activities such as kite surfing, beech volley ball.

Belle Mare
Belle Mare offers miles and miles of spotless white sands that is idea for jogging

Blue Bay
This beach is found in Mahebourg, that is not that far from Shandrani Hotel that is the nearest hotel from Mauritius's main airport. In this lagoon, is a marine reserve which makes it a good place from under water snorkeling amongst other usual activities there, e.g. wind-surfing, and sailing.

Le Morne & Tamarin
This is a favourite location for highly skilled body surfers, and kite surfers from the island. At this beach you can catch up some tanning or sea bathing in the backdrop of the Le Morne mountain.

Flic en Flac
The name 'Flic en Flac' comes from the old Dutch phrase 'free and flat land' (Dutch: Fried Landt Flaak). Located in the west, Flic en Flaq has become the second most important touristique beach after Grand Baie. it has the white beaches, that Mauritius is famous for, along with filaos (Casuarinas trees). It is very popular place for weekend beach activities.
